Complete Denture Options
Fife Dental Care provides patients with two excellent options for complete dentures:
- Immediate Dentures
Immediate dentures are ideal for patients who need teeth extracted and dentition restored without delay because immediate dentures can be worn as gums heal. Patients meet with Dr. Fife about a week before their appointment for tooth extraction to select tooth color. When the immediate denture is ready, the extraction(s) may be done and the immediate denture worn home. Patients may visit Dr. Fife in the weeks following for fitting adjustments to accommodate the healing mouth.
- Conventional Complete Dentures
Conventional dentures are the ideal permanent denture because they are truly custom-fit to your mouth. Fabrication and fitting of conventional complete dentures does not begin until your mouth is completely healed from any dental work (about six weeks after any procedure). Once healed, impressions of your mouth are taken and tooth color is selected. When the complete denture is ready, you come in for the initial fitting. You may also visit in a number of weeks following for fitting adjustments.
All complete dentures from Fife Dental Care are made from a more advanced material than acrylic that is lighter, clearer and resistant to misshaping during fabrication so you get the most comfortable fit possible.
